For some reason, I'm not sure if you're serious, but here goes. A cappuccino is a shot of espresso (or two or three...depending on how strong you like it) and frothed milk. You need a cappuccino maker to froth the milk very well, but it just uses hot steam inserted into the milk to warm the milk and then the top gets foamy. Most people add a syrup for flavor too.

The less fat the better the froth. Skim works best while cream you have to wrestle to produce any froth. The fat is heavy and resists being frothed.

No, its a different kind of coffee. Its roasted differently and is prepared a different way.
For example you would not want to brew espresso in a regular machine as it would turn out VERY bitter. And you would not want to put regular coffee into an espresso machine becuase it would turn out watery and not very tasty.

Last time I complained about someone else's hijacking, I was told if I didn't like it I could take a hike. This site is too precious for me to leave it. So I decided to join the crowd instead.

Cappuccino is 1/3 espresso, 1/3 steamed milk, 1/3 froth.
I gave up trying to get cappuccino at those corporate coffee chains because they never get the froth right, so now I order lattes which is 1/3 espresso, 2/3 steamed milk.

I like cafe latte with vanilla + one shot of espresso, in the night.
During winter '99, when in Chicago, used to go out at night with this girl friend of mine. We would get coffee, park by our apartment lake, and sip the coffee slowly (so as to prolong the pleasure), listening to Windy100 playing softly on the radio...
