I have a servlet that after data is submitted it has to connect to an SAP system and perform a calculation. This takes some time. After the submit button is pushed, I would like to go to a new page and have an animated bar type image indicating the user to wait for a response. Then when the calculation is finished it goes to the results page.

How can I do this?

John,

Please refer to this link http://www.apl.jhu.edu/~hall/java/Servlet-Tutorial/Servlet-Tutorial-Response-Headers.html

Pay attention to paragraph 3 (Example: Automatically Reloading Pages as Content Changes)

Hope it helps.
