I see you've still not located Sun's website. You'll find a whole wealth of "details" there about lots of topics. It even has a search facility for entering phrases like "JSP engine" and "Servlet engine". I also find Google very useful for researching this kind of broad enquiry. You may also benefit from reading how to ask a smart question. I'm not particularly fond of directing people to this link (though other Ranchers are) as it's not quite consistent with JavaRanch's prime directive and it's rather long-winded...
