UtilSnoop usage

did anyone used utilsnoop to capture the traffic b/w browser and tomcat server? I tried to debug my we application and followed the example on howtouseit coming with the package. but the gui textareas are always empty while the logger shows it is monitoring the traffic and my browser does send request and receive response. What should I except from the text area?
