I am going to assume that people here are some of the elite few in your workspace that know stuff about computers, if this is true this is what you do, it makes for a great time. Go into a room full of employees and tell them that their computers are going to crash in five minutes, and no matter what they do, saving to disk etc. nothing will save what they are working on, you should see their faces.

I dont get it. How could that even happen? Most places i know have removable storage or remote storage. So even if the office puters crashed it wouldnt make much difference.

Sorry, I don't get my kicks from hurting other people.
Even if I did, I would be too afraid of it backfiring, i.e. no one would want to work with me, which is really a bad idea when you are in consulting.
OTOH, give it shot sometime if it makes you happy.

it is a joke dude, it doesn't really happen people are usually ignorant of what is happening in the dungeon of tangled wires called the sysadmin placey-place so it works to fool them

this reminds me of something I saw here not long ago...
Sometimes when I feel like killing someone, I do a little trick to calm myself down. I'll go over to the persons house and ring the doorbell. When the person comes to the door, I'm gone, but you know what I've left on the porch? A jack-o-lantern with a knife stuck in the side of its head with a note that says "You." After that I usually feel a lot better, and no harm done.

I'll probably regret asking...

click on "what in the world does BOFH stand for?" and then on "Find out what is so amusing about the BOFH series" and pick a story.
