what are possible ways to time out a user session (http session)
in what way can we invalidate a session,if I use
API to invalide,i understand that user session gets killed even before the session time out or even before user closes his browser.

The servlet container will automatically time-out sessions according to the default time delay (in web.xml) OR a value you set on the individual session.
You can invalidate a session at any time with the invalidate() method.
