not able to access the servlet

My dear friends,
iam facing a problem when accessing a servlet.I have written a small servlet and compiled it.Iam using javawebserver.After starting the server,i tried accessing http://localhost:8080 to check whether the server has been started properly.But its coming The page cannt be displayed.....

Kindly help me out....

I think you should check the configuration file of your web server to know the proper port of your server...
