Friends,

we have a web application ruuning over SSL, we've seen a delay of a https request by 5 seconds. We donot see this delay when we access the same resource via a proxy server.

When we create an entry in Hosts file, the delay disappears.
can anybody kindly throw some light on this and suggest alternative solution? some suggested reading or any information is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

You can use "SSL acceleration appliances", if it is an option.

Here is an article on how it works: http://www.nwfusion.com/news/tech/2000/1023tech.html?nf

Jay,

Thanks very much for the link. I'd discuss the possibility of using any of the SSL accelerators with our team.

Making an entry in the Hosts file solves the issue, This may not be the best of doing it, is there any better way of doing it?

any ideas, information?

Thanks.
