hey how come some hacker can edit my registry but i cant? My win98 systen is now screwed up but i cant fix it. those damned trojan spreaders will all die horible deaths if i can help it. my computer used to be part of a LAN before I bought it used. the system recognizes my password as being systen administrator but i cant run regedit because the old system administrator disabled that. I dont have win 95 CD and my win 98 upgrade cd is not being read by either of my cd drives so how can i enable registry editing? I have win 95 cab files but dont know how to use them.as i said password is not a prob but i cant run regedit, please help... symptoms are showing up everywhere. i run a game program and it says i dont have enough dis space to save a game and it acts wrong in other things too. my server says cant find file when the file is right there. it is like they partitioned my HD or something and now windows cant see the entire directory structure. I have 4 gigs free and many windows utilities see that i do but others say i only have a 2 gig HD
please help if you can
PS:it was netbus did it to me and if you use it i damn you to eternal damnation.

this is the stupid message i get
java.io.FileNotFoundException: ../webapps/examples/SiteLog.txt (The system cannot find the path specified)
well I guarantee the file is there and sometimes the server can see it too. It is just like the game which says I must free up some disk space in order to save a game when i got 4 gigs free

LOL. fdisk will indeed fix it.
Sounds like you have a compressed drive (sometimes 2G, sometimes 4G).
I usually would not recommend software drive compression.
You (unfortunately) are probably going to have to figure out how to re-install the OS. Been there. It ain't fun.
Can you boot from one of your CD's? If so, get an OS install CD and boot from it for a reinstall. (Sorry about your games! I tell my wife that all the time!)
If you have important data files, try to back them up first.
Get a good virus scanner immediately after reinstall.
Don't software compress a disk!!! The hardware is too cheap and high capacity these days to accept that risk.
Best of luck, Guy

nah I installed the HD myself it is 10 gigs fat32 and no compression and no partitions(or at least it was) I dont really have a clue what is going on. I cant reinstall my os i bought it used with win 95 on it (no CD but I do have cab files) i burned a copy of win98 upgrade and upgraded but that CD is no longer being read by either of my CD drives. I cant run regedit since the previous system administrator disabled registry editing. although win does recognize my password as that of the system administrator. I dont even know if problem is in registry.
windows explorer says I have 10 gig with 4 gig free but drivespace utility says I have 2 gig not compressed with 2 gig free?

this is very strange. when I go to http//javaguy.yi.org and log in i get the file not found error from the servlet but when i go to http//localhost I dont get the error. instead it says my cookie must have expired but the cookies last a year and i just went there yesterday so should have recieved a new one. I havent deleted my cookies either.i guess i go look for the cookie now. this is very strange behavior
I dont know where netscape stores cookies but the one for IE is right where it always is

wow if i skip the login and go straight to the main page, then enter the magic shop, the next servlet has no trouble reading the cookie. maybe I should recompile the first servlet
