Servlet Container contains "servlet engine" ( a set of functionality or services) that runs servlets. Like Tomcat is a servlet/JSP container because it has servlet/JSP engine in it that executes servlets or JSPs. People normally use Servlet container and servlet engine interchangeably. hope this helps. regads, -Tulsi
