Is there a way to compile
source file without resorting to
Resin or Apache-Tomcat servers.
I have latest version of JDK installed but compiler complains saying that
javax.servlet.* and other packages not found. I am just interested in compiling, not deploying my

As long as j2ee.jar is on your classpath, you'll have everything you need to compile servlets.
