One of the Wrapper class from Servlet api
http://java.sun.com/j2ee/sdk_1.3/techdocs/api/javax/servlet/ServletRequestWrapper.html

These wrappers classes help you to modify request/response. For e.g. compression, encryption, XSLT etc.

Example is here, Providing customized Request n Response
http://java.sun.com/products/servlet/Filters.html

Thanks Pardeep. Now I got that.
Actually, It is not as such required in servlet. But we may use these to modify request/response objects.
