Adding a Filter at runtime

I am trying to add a Filter to my Servlet project. Since this particular Filter requires a certain amount of configuration i figured it would be best if i'd just configure it via the Spring Framework and then add it to the filter chain at runtime i.e. not declaring it in web.xml.

Is this possible?

I just realized that there is no need for that, since I can use acegi's FilterToBeanProxy for it.
