difference between webapplication and servletcontext

what is the exact difference between a webapplication and a servlet context? i have googled many times but could not find the exact reason?
As far as i know servletcontext is a view of webapplication which contains servlets,jsp's and other resources.As per terminology we just say a webapplication as servletcontext?Im i right?

Well the ServletContext is a Java Object. A Web Application, is an application that runs on the web, it is not a Java Object, just a term.
