Can anyone give an example of why to use GenericServlet, I know if we want to use other protocol than Http we use GenericServlet, but an example application would be helpful in knowing what servlets can really do.

GenericServlet exists for the sake of someone writting an specifi servlet to their own protocol. However, 99.9999999% of the people only work with http servlets. So, maybe there's someone working with a non-http servlet, but nobody has heard about it! So, if there's anyone using a non-http servlet, I also would like to see
