Installed tomcat 5.0.28 and worked fine. Installed BT broadband basic and now I get a 'The page cannot be displayed' error (Cannot find server) after I start tomcat. Haven't got a clue whats happened. Any help gratefully received.

I have no idea what "installing BT broadband basic" entails, but if it includes a firewall, it could be either blocking Java from being a server on port 8080 (more likely) or stopping your browser connecting to port 8080 (still possible but less likely.

Thanks Dave,

That worked perfectly, I set my personal firewall setting to low via Norton's Internet security and now I can see the tomcat home page. Now I can do my sun web component developer work at last! Cheers.

Phew, glad it helped. Please review your firewall settings and find out how to enable Java without diablinbg security, this could be very bad.
