buffer=none + autoflush=true illegal why?

hi
i read that the combination of buffer = none and Autoflush = true/false is an illegal combination.

i concluded that since there is no buffer the Autoflush can't be used as the attribute am i right.

That's what I presume... I haven't been able to find a good reason for it yet. I suppose looking at the way the servlets are generated with those page attributes, might give a clue.
