I've recently installed weblogic8.1 for Windows and was trying to deploy JSP pages and also Servlets, how do I approach this?
Where should I place the file, what should be the directory structure I'm new to weblogic so a detailed description would be appreciated.

"lothlorien the grey",

There aren't many rules that you need to worry about here on the Ranch, but one that we take very seriously regards the use of proper names. Please take a look at the JavaRanch Naming Policy and adjust your display name to match it.

In particular, your display name must be a first and a last name separated by a space character, and must not be obviously fictitious.

Thanks!

Create a ear file and copy th file to C:\bea\user_projects\domains\<your domain name>\<your server name>\upload directory. The WLS will automatically pick it up in few seconds.

For example
C:\bea\user_projects\domains\mydomain\myserver\upload

Hope this helps.

BUMP!

Meanwhile, grab a copy of the Servlets Specification for whatever version of servlets that weblogic supports. It will tell you all that you need to know about laying out a web application.

Two other tings.

1. I deleted your duplicate post with the same question, please try not to duplicate post.

2. This sounds more specific to Weblogic than Servlets, so I am moving this thread to the Weblogic Forum.

OK so we all gang up at the same time, and since there are answers, I won't move it.

Create a ear file

Of course, a war file is all that is required since the OP made no mention of EJBs.
