is there any way to know if the buffer is filled?

Assuming that you want this so that you can know the buffer status (i.e send to client or not) I am not sure that there's a method for querying if the buffer is full, but you can use isCommitted() to check if the buffer contents have been flushed to client because that will,in anyways, happen when the buffer is full.
