why do we hv to use single thread model servlet?
please give me an example where single thread model is used

You don't have to use it. In fact, it's a very bad idea to do so.

And more over sreekanth, its deprecated in the latest version..... its still in the API only to support the existing systems. Its would be a bad idea to use STM for newer systems.
