Iam unable to figureout the problem Using jsp.

I want to upload the spreadsheet cantains morethan 1mb from my application and iam unable to figureout the timeout alert. Beacuse in Dev environemnt i can't breakout the timeout alert problem beacuse only one user using the application. But in production no of users using the application and uploading the ss ,so there might be no of hits on the server and it leads to the cpu performance.How to figureout this issue when it crossing the firwalls using .Javascript,jsp ,xml nad java.. Anybody had an idea on this problem and sample code give me the solution and sample code.I need the solution for this problem asap. Iam expecting ur early replyand i thankful to all.

How the request for the spreadsheet is generated
What the client side is
How long does it take before the timeout alert appears
Is the spreadsheet being generated on the fly from the JSP/
