I can start my cdplayer from the DOS prompt - type "cdplayer",
but I can't play. I need to physically hit the play button.
Is there a way to specify this on the DOS prompt
so that it will play the CD automatically.
Trying to use my CD-ROM drive as an alarm...
Thanks.

I don't know on which OS you are speaking, but I do know that winamp offers command line options like that as well as providing the API so that you can use windows messaging to speak to winamp.
Check out thier web site for more details.
