Hi

I Like to know what is the use of following tag in the wb.xml. Yes i understand it will say our project name, is there any thing more here. I also like to know is there any link which will info about all the tags in web.xml.

<display-name>SSP Global</display-name>
<description>SSP Global Application.</description>

I think its for making the configuration more verbose.Apart for this , this might be helpful for making a tool with which you can generate web.xml.

In Tomcat, for instance, when you look at the list of deployed applications with the Manager tool, the name and description set in your deployment descriptor (web.xml) are displayed.

The servlet spec has a list of all the tags, along with a chart and an example deployment descriptor. There is a link to the servlet spec in my signature.
