Boy did you see that invention on Good Morning America? I really liked it. I walk daily from NYP to 38th and 5th. I would love having it.
What do you think?

How do you intend to drag the 60 odd lbs of the machine along with you considering i travel more than 17 miles by train into the city and 5 miles within the city , unless.. the cities are going to be built keeping in mind the existence of ginger ( meaning separate lanes ? ) or people intend to use it like the hypothetical case of people using old bicycles in cambridge where you just borrow a cycle and park it outside for someone else to use it and recycle the usage of ginger ?( 3000 $ eh ? )

To Quote : "Our machine is compatible with the sidewalk. If a Segway hits you, it's like being hit by another pedestrian "
With the top speed or around 15mph ? of segway ...wouldn't some one be trampled underneath it if we didnt have seprate pathways for IT.

Well, it's not like you have to carry it I see a lot of people who bring motorized scooter with them in the train. Also the speed is not 15MPH, it 12 MPH Max. and that too for special operations. For av. consumers it'll be 8MPH Max.
The weight is an issue but I heard they said it will be reduced.

Are you guys talking about "it"? That thing is never gonna happen, and if it does it wont catch on. I dont know of anyone who would use one. It would have to be for a very specialized ans small audience.
Complete waste of time and energy.

It won't be allowed on the sidewalks of NYC. They are far too crowded already. And what do you do when it rains? This is completly impractical for any real use. Maybe I could use it run to the library on a sunny summer day. Sign me up when they get down to $300.

I dont think it will ever catch on. Even if they come down in price who will want to buy this motorized scooter that is not very practical for urban use at all, and even less so in less populated areas. Its a cool idea as a novelty, but thats about it.

The streets are too dangerous to drive a vehicle that can only do 12 mph. The sidewalks are for pedestrians. So I take it back, I wouldn't even want one to drive to the library with.

I wonder if you'd need insurance before you used "it"? I could see some pedestrian who's foot got run over by "it" suing for a couple of million (pain and suffering and "my life is over" bit).
I'll stick to my scooter. At least it'll keep up with traffic.
