An attribute is stored in a scope?what does scope mean with reference to attrbute?

Scope has to do with how long an attribute will last and who has access to it.

This is covered very early on in any JSP/Servlet tutorial so it's probably a waste of time to re-iterate all of it here.

The scope objects are: Context (application), Session, Request, and Page.
This should give you enough keywords to use in Google when searching for a a good tutorial.
