EOF Exception while reading from applet

Hi,
I am doing servlet-applet communication. My servlet sends me a vector of vector and the applet is able to read it and I am returning the same serialized object back to my servlet and I get this EOF Exception on my servlet.

What is strange here is I have 2 clients connected to the same server but from 2 different windows machines, one is able to communicate with the servlet perfectly fine while on my other box I am seeing this EOFException for the same kind of operation.
I've verified both the clients use the same JRE(1.5) and server side code was built using 1.5 JDK. Both the systems have similar image.
I've tried to re-install JRE on the box that is not working, I've rebooted the box that is not working...nothing seems to fix the problem.

Here's my servlet code....

My Applet code is...

Here's the stacktrace -

java.io.EOFException
at java.io.ObjectInputStream$PeekInputStream.readFully(Unknown Source)
at java.io.ObjectInputStream$BlockDataInputStream.readShort(Unknown Source)
at java.io.ObjectInputStream.readStreamHeader(Unknown Source)

Any suggestions/comments is much appreciated.
