Just a quick question with a long answer. Basically what I would like to do is to have servlet A invoke servlet B which exists on a different server and to get servlet B send some sort of file to servlet A. Is this possible? If not what would be the best way to get a file from one server to another, preferably through HTTP?

Yes, Its possible.
Servlet A can open the URL connection to Servlet B and send the file.

Jakarta HTTP Client may be useful
