Hi

Is anybody try programing non http servlet ?
Is there any tutorial, examples available on it?

What protocols would it serve? FTP, SMTP, ???

I's curious, why would you want that?

To me, the point of doing servlets is that the base classes handle a bunch of HTTP specific boring stuff.

If you used something else, the boring stuff would be different, and the servlet base classes couldn't help.

If you just want to talk a protocol, why not just open the socket and go?

I m just curious. The Specification says that we can use Servlet for non http protocol also, But I m never come across any non http servlet, to just get to know I ask this question.
