Request parameters not being passed through Filter

I am trying to pass request parameters to a JSP using JSTL tags c:import and c: param . The request is sent to a Spring controller through a Servlet Filter. Here is my filter mapping from web.xml . I am using servlet spec 2.4 . Here is the code snippet of A.jsp that imports B.jsp. I am passing few request params to B.jsp and displaying the same in B.jsp

This is the filter mapping in web.xml

If I use the dispatcher elements REQUEST and FORWARD, my params are not being displayed in the jsp.

If I use the dispatcher element REQUEST only, my params are still not being displayed in the jsp.

If I use the dispatcher element FORWARD, my params are being displayed in the jsp. But direct requests do not work.

Any thoughts on how to resolve this issue?

Thanks
Venkatesh
