i believe j2ee i think it stands for java 2 enterprise environment which has more libraries in it.

bottomline - the difference lies in the packages they have.
jdk supports the core packages.
j2ee encompasses the whole enterprise applications
servlets, jsp, jdbc, ejbs and lot more.
check out the abv links so you can take a look at the
docs of the packages they support.
