I guess I saw one too many discussion threads that started interestingly enough but then get mudded with personal interest, emotional bias or just plain ignorance (relax I am not talking specifically about this forum), so I decided to create a place (
http://www.tlon.info/jive/forum.jsp?forum=1 ) without any software vendor as sponsor and do my best to drive it into hard facts, technical ones especially of course but recognizing the importance of factors as market share, community maturity, political context, etc.
So I opened a site with the idea of offering a place for non-partisan discussions among people dedicated to the development of software systems, especially -but not limited to- business applications.
As I am deeply convinced that so far the best way to develop business applications is using object-oriented technologies, the first discussion forum that I am offering is devoted to object oriented development. So take a look at
http://www.tlon.info/jive/forum.jsp?forum=1 and say whatever it is that has been bugging you about O-O development, be it about design, EJBs, web services, O-R mappings and any other O-O related issue, just try to keep an open mind and focus on the practical side (as opposed to passionate rantings or conspiracy theories).
Best of luck,
