Hi,
I was wondering if anyone knew how to hide the DOS window behind an applet or make it invisible is possible.
Would appreciate any thoughts.

Behind an Applet? There should not be any DOS window for an Applet, only for an application. If you invoke the application using javaw instead of java then the user can close the DOS window if they want. Also, you can just maximize your appliction to cover the DOS window.
