Can anyone help me in accessing a SQL Server from a Java program? Does Java have support SQL Server? i.e. Can I access a SQL Server database from a java program, to read from and write to the database?

You have the question backwards. It should be "does SQL Server have support for java".
I believe that it does (both Sybase and MS). When you install it there should be an ODBC driver for it included and you just make a JDBC call using it.
