when you say from one field to another what does that mean ?
copy and paste ?

ur right, I want to do copy & paste, but don't want to do right click, copy and again right click paste it. I just want select the data, drag it to another field. Is it possible in java?

i now you can do it within a tree
sorry but i dont know about dragging strings

I guess that depends on why you want to use AWT. If you use it becuase you suspect that your clients may not have JVM's that support swing, they may also not support DND. If that is not the case, you sould be able to use the example I referenced with AWT components.
