I was recently listening to a radio program about the representation of the American south in the arts - particularly the use of southern identities to represent eccentricity, intellectual impairment etc. This is not intended to be a harangue against people from the southern USA. However, the funniest thing I heard wasn't from literature. It was a true story. It was a story about a fellow who bought a new lexus and couldn't make the payments. So, matter of factly, he decided to bury it in his backyard. cheerio rowan
