If u would put together a list of top 10 languages
where would java fall?ie in terms of how popular it is in
the industry. Im really getting into the
language and I was wondering if there really is a future
or maybe I should concentrate on something else
Thank u all for your time

The 'is there any future in Java' questions are usuallt considered trolling - this is a Java forum after all
I have this link. The author is gathering as many languages as possible and performing the same common operations (sorting, IO etc) with each then doing the old "compare and contrast". Haven't checked up on it for a couple of months.
Just a side note: originally I found this link on Slashdot and the author was complaining about the 'Slashdot effect' (sorry, no link for that one). Basically the author pays for his net traffic and has a low bandwidth so don't everyone go there at once. Save the link then have a look later.
Also, remember that all of the tests are generic, they don't necessarily take Javas strengths into account.
Dave.
