where to deploy jar files

My question basically is where to put jar files that are for our web application VERSUS where to put jar files for our java batch programs?
Can they be put in the same location?
The 2 sets of jar files are for the same project.
Now, our jar files used in the web app are in the ff directory:
/opt/www/mywebapp_name/java/mywebapp_name/WEB-INF/lib
I think this has to do with PATH and context. (I'm not a Unix person).
For the same project, we now have a jar file (BBB.jar) containing java batch programs w/c we will run using cron.
Question: where should I deploy BBB.jar to? should it be in the same directory where the jar files for the web application are?
Thanks.

The answer (as it so often is) is "it depends". How are you planning to call your Java "batch" code? Will the line in the cron be something like

or will you actually be calling some native script file eg.

which in turn calls the JVM ?
Either way, you should be able to specify the full path to the jar file in the command, so it doesn't really matter where it lives.
