How to Improve Windows Programming?

Hi guyz,
I want to improve my Windows Programming, infact want to master in developing windows application.I have tried couple of times to develop windows application using swings but i experienced that i took much time then it require.Means the basic thing which I think is managing and applying correct layouts.Anyway, is there any good book on this topic?.Any other help is also be wellcome.

Practice, practice, practice.
I've heard of others that really appreciated Manning's book titled simply "Swing". I think a second edition of the book came out recently.
Of course, for a decent introduction, don't miss Sun's Java tutorial on Swing.

Yes i think u r right that i've to do lot of practice in order to master to develop windows application.Well i have search for the Swing book at amazon and got Three Books on Swing.Now which one best book shall i purchase which starts teaching for a layman and ends with mastering swings?.

You may want to use the term GUI (Graphical User Interface), pronounced goo-ee, instead of windows. "Windows" takes longer to type and can be confused with the operating system.

Technically GUI is better word than windows.But pplz. having avg. IQ will get my questions meaning I will suggest u to evaluate the terms a/cto the context in which they are used.If my PC is effeced with virus then its not HIV or AIDS, but it may be WINDOWS 98

I read a few Java GUI books and I found that Manning's Swing is the best. It may be slightly above beginner level
