Non viewable chanacters in System.out.println()

I am putting out a
to the dos screen that has a large gap in the middle. The gap is not spaces. Is there an good way to find out what these characters are?

Redirect the output to a file and open that file in some text editor (Textpad or Wordpad. But not Notepad: it doesn't show special characters)
I guess they will be nulls.
I’ve looked at a lot of different solutions, and in my humble opinion Aspose is the way to go. Here’s the link:
