I have a doubt. When i call FTP Process by getting the Process instance and invoking exec method, where does this FTP process runs?. Will it run on the JVM, or seperate unix shell?
Suggest me that I have two options to do a FTP.
1) FTP Java client
2) FTP by invoking exec method on Process instance

Thanks in advance

Hi babu,
If you invoke Runtime.getRuntime().exec() then it runs in a separate process, definitely not in the JVM.

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
