Ftp file to an AS400

Hello ,
I was wondering if it is possible to strip a folder from an e-mail attachement and then send it to an AS400 server in Java.
Could anybody give a few hints .Bits of code if possible to lead me in the right direction.
I am relatively new to Java.

You can use the javamail API to strip an attachment from an email message.
To FTP something that file to the AS400 server, you can try the following, although I have never tried to do this. Assuming that your AS400 server is called "server" your account is "user" and your password is "pass", and the filename you want to give the uploaded file is "somefile" then the following code should work:

InputStream is = new BufferedInputStream(new FileInputStream("somefile"));
URL url = new URL("ftp://user:pass@server/somefile;type=i");
URLConnection urlc = url.openConnection();
OutputStream os = new BufferedOutputStream(urlc.getOutputStream());
while((c=is.read())!=-1) {
  os.write(c);
}
os.flush();
os.close();
is.close();
