Hi all,
has anyone used the java.util.pref.Preferences api?
I don't know if this is silly or not. Can I use the Preferences api to read keys at are in my windows registry?
If so how?
here is some code i wrote, but it doesn't do what i want, as I can only get childnames for children that I have myself put into the Preferences.I want to get what is already existing in the registry.

Hi,
You can't retrive a value from registry using preference API. The api provides an abstract layer in storing and retrieving "your application" user preferences (it can be used to store other small set of information also)
