Can normal/cool guys fall in love with geeky girls?

See, there is this really nice guy, incredibly bright, that is in my study group. We spend lots and lots of time together, talking, laughing, eating ice cream, just being great friends. So, this has been carrying on for about six months. Now, after three months I did kind of ask whether it's moving somewhere and the answer was a definite NO (some old girlfriend broke his heart really badly) but we keep on having such great times together and I can't stop being madly in love with him.
So, actually two questions:
1) Can guys find geek girls attractive or is it something you just keep as a friend, your handy agony auntie when you find a "real" girl?
2) Is it possible for a guy to change his mind, when he has felt no attraction in 3 months, after being really good friends for 6 months???
Your Answers Are My Only Hope.

Sure it is possable, it probably happens all the time. The question is if he finds you attractive or not - he obviously enjoys our company. The other thing is it might be true and he is a little gun-shy right now. If that is the case then if you give him time to recover and get himself back together then he may very well change his mind about furthering your relationship.
On the other hand, it might be that right now he's just looking for a friend and latter, when he's ready for more, he won't want to risk jepardizing that to become more with you.
Why dont you post your picture and tell us where you are - someone here might be interested
good luck

Hi Geeky girl .
dont know about others but
1) I feel being Geeky would not stop a guy from being in love. Its something you dont control or switch on or off.
2) Yes things change with time (Im hoping for that myself.)
Having been in the guys shoes myself.....heres what i feel about the situation.
1) Guy feels guilty .With memories still fresh in his mind about the past relationship..he kind of feels guilty about getting involved so soon.I do .
Talk to him and be there for him .
2) How can he be sure this one wont end up the same way as the previous one ??
3) Guy may not be ready to put you in an uncomfortable position where he still keeps thinking about the other girl. Are you ok with that ??
4) Guy may not be ready to commit because of reasons...like finances / Education /Job security etc etc......i dont know details about you though.
Agree with Dave on giving hime time. If you enjoy each others company so much , hes probably already halfway into the relationship. With time things will be better.
Luck

Hi!
Well I think Daves' opinion is to the point..
Just give the guy a lil more time and things will fall into place.. and during that time I guess you got to give him the most undivided love..
Hmm well, it is for sure that the guys mind set will change... and may be so will yers..
if that happens.. remember the guy will be heart broken twice!!! that is really a painful thing to be in
and ofcourse.. IF you do plan to change yer mind!!! GIMME A CHANCE!!!
Always there, when you change yer mind!!

It happens in the movies.
But then in the movies the geeky girls are all being played by Sandra Bullock or Julia Roberts or someone of their ilk. So it's never entirely convincing.
I'm sure it's possible as art imitates life imitating art imitating life all the time. However perhaps the real litmus test would be if you imagine the stereotypical Ken and then present yourself as the stereotypical Barbie (with really thick glasses). Then see his reaction change.

Don't try to be something you're not.
Tell him: I think you're great and I understand that you don't want do try anything more than what we have now. I just want you to know that if you ever want more, I won't say "no" and I won't bug you about this sort of thing again.
Hell, e-mail this to him.

Can guys find geek girls attractive or is it something you just keep as a friend, your handy agony auntie when you find a "real" girl?
At this age - for me every girl looks attractive
Since you are geek, you look more attractive

Wow, look at all the nice advise! You are all incredibly kind. No, sorry, Sita, I don't know you from a bar of soap but perhaps you should follow the advise too.
I will have to read all this very carefully and get back to you on my thoughts. Thanks for all the efforts. I'm sitting IN our computer lab at university WITH him, trying to type this as fast as I can before he looks up from his books so I'm .
Nope, he's not gay, b.t.w.

well, I found out the reason he does not want anything more from our relationship. It turns out he was using me to get closer to my mother. I caught them today at lunch time at his place .

While you're at it, post your mother's picture too.

Hey! That wasn't my post, b.t.w. And I'm sure our sheriff can confirm that with an IP LOG!!!
Oh well, I guess that happens when you use an alias. I'm resigning from this now as I'm not prepared to put my real name in. Sorry. And I'm REALLY sorry that some spoiler stopped this really cool thread now. Any more posts from GeekyGirl is not from me.
Thanks for the nice posts, though

Well you could just register with a made-up name as long as it LOOKS real we won't know the difference.
