So why are Mahatma Gandhi and American Charity oxymorons? Gandhi is called Mahatma, which he is not and the second is obvious -- Venkat

Now I understand... it's an oxymoron like "sita kodali" and "intelligent thought".
Ok, so do I close this thread or delete it? Sita, bad manners. Take it to USENET. Boys, you know better. [ June 13, 2002: Message edited by: Michael Ernest ]

Well, no need to close the thread yet, but if people like Sita continue to use "let's list oxymorons" as an excuse to insult and provoke people, I'll be happy to start deleting individual posts.

sometime Thomas your replies are really great... I like this one. and about Jason ..once I was going through old threads .. I found that (if I am not wrong) Jason has been in defence services(Am I right Jasin?). So now I think he is respectable as he has seen a part of life which we(I) have missed. And whenever he stands for US its his loyality and greatness. AW we were talking abt oxymorons: Michael Map (Map corrected "Micheal" to "Michael" ) [ June 13, 2002: Message edited by: Mapraputa Is ]

The word oxymoron is itself oxymoronic because it is formed from two Greek roots of opposite meaning, oxys "sharp, keen," and moros "foolish," the same root that gives us the word moron . Noting that oxymoron is a single-word oxymoron consisting of two morphemes that are dependent in English, the intrepid linguist senses a rich opportunity to impose order on seeming chaos, to extract significance from the swirl of data that escape through the holes in people's faces, leak from their pens, and glow on their computer screens. Hence one oxymoronic word : Prank
Thanks for the kind words... Yes, I was in the military for awhile. Another latin oxymoron: Sophmore - wise fool

Curious -- Map actually took the time to correct a spelling error. Since isn't a common practice, this must have been something particularly painful to her. Has someone added a spell checker to the Mapraputa Is v1.5 bot? Micheal, excellent use of a verbless sentance. But the nice people at Google are so generous with their bandwidth and equiptment, why wish bad manners upon them? This document is released under the Weitzman License. It must be displayed in full and unmodified form unless explicit permission is given by Margarita Isayeva the author -- muhahahaha! This license itself also may not be altered. hey guys, no heat.. if the software Map vXX.xx has an update daemon running, to update itself with the latest ( With spelling correction ).. so be it. As long as there are spell checkers, there shud be spelling mistakes or else that wud put the spell checker outta work!!! And by the way, Map, do you run on a Windows?? coz the update and Service pack features are patented Windows only!! Lupo
