Jason's thread reminded me again that music can say what words cannot. Will we understrnad each other better if we we post links to our favorite music here? Anyway, mine are this and this.

May I know which language the songs are in? Didn't get to download the first song properly/probably. The second song appear to be singing about lost love or poverty? Or is it?
The raining music effect in the first song, is it made by a piano?

Johnson, when is your birthday? Heck, I want to celebrate
Songs are in Russian, of course
"The second song appear to be singing about lost love or poverty? Or is it?"
Actualy, it's about a brass band before WWII, music lives longer than people, in this case. "Black streams of this music pour right into my blood..." - Shura may translate better.

Very Nice Topic!!
I like instrumental songs, escp something made with violin, trumpet, flute and with mild drum beats!!..
U can hear the below songs just before u go to bed or in the evening times, escp if u have surrounded speaker its sound nice.
Composed by a great Music Mastero from South India(Tamilnadu),his name is "Ilayaraja"
Go to www.mohankumars.com ,on the left, click "Raaja's Gems" then "All time killers" then "How to name it" or "Nothing but wind"\
Now try to listen the song "How to Name it.mp3" or "Nothing but wind.mp3"
Just give a try.
Map!,my PC sound card is out of order,so plz don't delete ur mp3 files for 2-3 days.
If anyone knows the links of instrumental or theme songs, please post here.
BYW,does anybody know the link to hear free Enigma songs ??

Can't get to listen to the songs this time. These songs require Winamp. Don't have Winamp download in my PC.
My birthday? Hmmmmm, I would like to know yours as well. Mine is 24th January. Hope that I'm not putting out my birth date for some Mumbo Jumpo.

My musical tastes vary almost by the day. I would say that that overall my musical taste tends to gravitate towards good music. What I mean by that is that every genre of music has its true inovators. Then the bands that are of a similar style but have their own sound come along. After that the imitators appear and don't add anything new to the mix. I generally gravitate towards the innovators and generation that closely follows them.

Come on, Margarita, you should be listening to stuff like this and this.
Besides, I thought these days when Russians go all grustno, it's fashionable to go Cape Verdean.

Mine is March 23 Mom said snowdrifts were high that day; climat got milder since then, I guess, because I do not remember too much snow on this day.
24th January...
My father's birthday is 22th January - he used to say he was born the next day Lenin died - to fill up the loss. 12 years later, though...

I wonder what is so special about March 23rd...
Map, very nice music. Very sad, too, good for healing your soul. Like those. I find it also helpful to listen to something heavy and agressive, especially when I am on a trafficky highway and everyone is doing 75-80...

Birthday is May 15th, it was probably wet and soggy outside
Favorite music, I like old rock:
Old Genesis (anything before the Genesis album)
favorites are one like 'trick of the tail' and 'squonk'
Also, like Kansas, Moody Blues, Abba, Jethro Tull. And my fair share fo classical too. Favorite would have to be Dvorak #9 (from the new world) - but it is only good when done by the Cleveland Symphony with Szell conducting.
Anyone ever heards the symphonic Led Zeppelin CD? That is so cool!!!

A previous dicussion of musical tastes can be found here. (Obviously, Dave's comments reminded me of the earlier thread.) For the record, the best Genesis song is Supper's Ready. Lately I've been getting into Jazz too - favorites are John Coltrane and Thelonious Monk. Will have to see about finding some good audio links to put here...

any music is OK with me .. but still "Ghazals" are one which I listen when I am alone. Malika Pukhraj, Fatima Khatoon, Mehndi Hasan, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Gulam Ali, Jagjeet Singh, Ahamad brothers...... are really great... Yes Munni Begum too is great.
I think music is above everything..
AW my b'day is 3rd Nov, any one else scorpion here ?

Okay... this explains a lot. My ex-wife's birthday was December 10th. You didn't also happen to be born in 1972 by any chance?

Ouch...very close, 73. It's not the date at fault, it's Sagittarius, man. I can only imagine what it does to women....
