hi,
i was wondering if it is possible to convert MutableTreeNode to Node. if so how can that be done.

I guess it will be easier the other way round.
A DefaultMTN has a UserObject, which might be your Node.
But Node and DMTN/ MTN are in very different packages in different extension-hierarchies, so there will be no casting.
I didn't work with 'Node' till today - so there might be better hints.
Are dom:nodes part of a kind of tree?

You can create an adaptor by extending MutableTreeNode (GoF pattern).
