Come on lets here your real dreams! You must have some wild dreams out there somewhere. What no one wants to win the supper lotto? Who wants to be the next Bill Gates? Who wants it to be legal to remove very stupid from the gene pool? Who wants to be able to eat all the junk food they want and never gain weight or get a cavity? Who wants to see an all female team in Volley Ball contest in a nudist colony?

Hehe,, I got some dreams for ya.The basis is I am going to pose as a yuppy, play golf and tennis every weekend, and then when I am the most wanted programming Guru, gonna grow my dreads back Hehe,, I want one of those huge flat screen TV's, of course equiped with a DVD player, my son wants that 1 too.And I want to buy one of those family cars with the DVD and video games in the back seat, and the Ac hook up in front so I need not waste my laptop battery ,,hmm, what else,, I want to have really big muscles, lol,, I just want to have fun with my life is what I am saying, I'll always be the person know as Chronicmeditation on the internet, but my boss won't know that, atleast until I am his boss. And that is another thing, i will also have my own company still, make some extra $$, software, web design, that type of stuff,,but like I said, I wish to uphold the image of a yuppy ,, subterfuge from within my friend,, gwar harhar,, ( that was my evil laugh),, ok peace everone.

Mine: have enough stashed away that I don't have to worry about retirement. Have a small farm or orchard, in some out-of-the-way quiet and scenic place. Do free-lance programming work from home. Travel around the world with my wife for at least a month out of the year. See (but not climb) Mount Everest. Learn to play the bagpipes and the guitar. Learn to read and speak latin and Scots gaelic. Save the whales while there are still some to save.

When I was a child, my ambition was to become a businessman and do business flying around the world. Luckily that doesn't happen with all those seasonal plane crash every year. Nowadays, I literally dream that I was back in school again learning something. Maybe that's because I missed the golden opportunity to hold down a job in the outside world.
Now I just wanna know everything. How the gears or slip rings in autotransmission gear box works, how aircon works, how the signals are processed and manipulated as it goes thru every chips on the mother boards; if someone is mentioned in Being an entrepreneur tonite, how many years will his business last or will his business be publicly listed, how edison or what his name manage to harness thunder and did the thunder give him a shock, I don't mind going thru the process of reinventing the wheels again; How Java was born and how it developed the internet.

I love this amazon review:
I am not kidding. This is by far the worst book I ever read...and I made myself read it from cover-to-cover in the forelorn belief that it would redeem itself near the end; it did not. Please do not buy this book -- if you feel tempted, get it from the library first to see if you like it (you won't). This book is famous for one reason and one reason only, in my humble opinion,.... it has a very unusual, catchy, interesting name. That's it. That's all it has. It is not really about Zen, or motorcycle maintenance (although both feature fleetingly). The new sub-title "an inquiry into values" is laughable marketing too. It is mainly the self-indulgent ramblings of a very dull, self absorbed person - probably on the edge of a nervous breakdown. The only thing I took away from this book was that I felt rather concerned for the author's son (on the assumption that this book is partially or fully auto-biographical). Instead of reading this book, go do some exercise -- it will do your mind and body much more good than this awful book.
And this one:
Prospective readers of this book be warned: Robert Pirsig is a total douche. I couldn't go any further than 150 pages. He is arrogant, myopic, and a complete bore. It surrounded my days with feelings of anger at him and everyone who has ever decided that they like this book and what it says. It tells very little of what we need to know, or what we'd like to know. And more over, I feel that those who reveal any enjoyment or, worse yet, adoration for this book unfailingly end up coming across as nothing short of total morons. Pirsig is.

To own a farm with 50 acres. I'd have a big orchard and a HUGE garden, and a small pond with catfish. I'd plant nut trees, and all kinds of berry bushes. I'd feed the deer and wild turkeys. I may or may not raise rabbits (not sure if I could "harvest" them). I'd live very, very simply and think a lot and read a lot and generally try to figure out what it's all about.

With Respect,
Matt

Matt, a small Garden of Eden?
I think... A ranch close to either NYC or LA, quiet place with pond and trees, for relaxation, but where you can hop in the car and be right there... Small place in European Alps (Colorado or Lake Reno/Mammoth will work also), to go skiing and just to hang out in Europe... Buy my parents a place where they can comfortably retire. Enough $ to be able to continue my travel and give my (future) kids the best education possible. And the most, love my work

Okay, so I'm the only ribald one here??? I want to have sex with as many _good_ looking women as possible before my hormones go away and I only look forward towards nap and food ~~
Also, I want to be able to create a multi-billion dollar corporation and spend my days taking care of it knowing that if I fail in making it a 2Xmulti-billion dollar corp. it's not going to matter because I still have my beautiful wife and family (obviously this would be _after_ I have sex with as many _good_, etc, etc :-)
Also, on my way to the top, I would like to have at least a few obstacles throw in my face every now and then to make life interesting and unpreditable. Hopefully, with me being a derelict a couple times.
Late in life, I would like to have an interviewer interview me.
He would say sometime like: "So do you regret anything about your life?"
And I would say somthing like this(in my most wise voice): "no, I think I lived a fullfilling life. I owned a corp. Life throw me some unexpect obstacles. But I was able to overcome them. Also, I have a beautiful wife. Plus, I had an exciting youth. By the way, it's almost nap time, and I have to go. Would you want some apple pie that my wife made? It's very good."
-The End-

All:
Saw this thread - it's late - so figured I would add my reply:
1. Want to set new world-record brown trout record - with my fly-rod.
2. Want to do same for rainbow trout & brook trout.
3. Want to write book about items #1 & #2 above.
4. Want to never touch another computer ever again. Although I would like to really understand EJBs for about 5 min - then forget all about it.
Want to run over my laptop with a bulldozer and not cry about it.
5. Have my own fly-shop on a trout stream.
6. Have a beautiful Russian wife, a few kids, a few persian and himalayan cats, a fire-engine to drive to trout stream in. A real train-engine - one of new SD90MACS that Union Pacific bought comes to mind.
Actually - I want my own private rail line from Pennsyvlania to the Big Horn River in Montanna. I want my own engine (which I get to drive)- a private sleeper car - a private kitchen with staff - and of course an observation car on the rear.

Want my own oil-refinery so I can get all the free fuel I want.
6. I want to practice touch & go landings at JFK airport with my very own Boeing 747. Want to re-pave the runway at West Yellowstone airport so I can land my 747 at there and go fishing.
7. I want a big trout painted on the side of my new 747. Also want "Uncle Johnny's Airplane" painted on the tailfin.
8. I want all of the trout streams in the United States to be declared "open" to fishing for everyone. The trout streams belong to the people.
No more "No Tresspassing" signs on trout streams.
9. I want to build a new trout stream and have it declared "The J.P.Coxey Memorial Trout Stream"
10. When I die - I want to be ground up into fish food and fed to all the fishies. My way of giving something back to the sport I love.

All:
Thought you'd enjoy that.
Regarding Russian woman - my friend went to Russia about 2 yrs ago and got wife this way. They've been married a year and half now and say it was the best thing they ever did.
Still totally in love with each other...
Figure I may do the same someday ... it's just so hard to meet women here in USA.
--------
I used to weigh 300+ lbs --- and used to look at the Russian Bride catelogs he would send me. Always figured I would go overseas and get be a bride that way.
BTW/ Am down to 180 lbs -- after 18 months --- and have spent past two months with a trainer trying to keep the weight steady - yet increase muscle tissue while loosing the fat tissue. Seems to be working.
-------------
Gotta run,
Johnny

Cindy:
Wall-Mart had these T-Shirts that say (in bold letters).
"Don't Worry!! - I'm a Professional"
I plan on wearing them on my next fishing-trip.
----------
I can see it now. Go to interview with suite & tie.
Go to the white-board. Take off suitecoat - take off tie - take off dress shirt.
Turn around and face the interviewer
"Don't Worry - I'm a Professional!!!"
-----------------------------------------
Oh well - at least I thought it was funny.
