Is there any java equivalent of GUID(global unique identifier).
I want to keep track of an application by some unique identifier .
How do I do that in JAVA?

That's a Windows construct, and Java, luckily, is not bound to one OS. What, more generally, are you trying to accomplish? Somehow every other OS on the face of the earth makes due without being weighed-down by the likes of the Windows registry.
