Greetings,
I can see that log4j has an "IsDebugEnabled" flag.
So far I can't find anything that tells me how to turn it on!
Any help would be appreciated.

While I'm not familiar with the flag itself, I'd wager that (with XML-based configuration), you are looking for the following:
