I run a fansite for my favourite comedian/actor Eddie Izzard. I have run other sites before for other actors who I admire.
I really enjoy doing it, I get to make my own site, have a solid subject matter and have to power to put on there whatever I like. I do it in my spare time, my friends however, think it's rather sad that I spend all day at work, working on one website then come home and spend hours working on another. They don't seem to get why I do it.
Then I asked myself, why DO i do it?
I do it because:
I admire the man himself, as a person as much for his georgous looks
I love building websites.
I like to have my mind occupied, so having a project to think about in my spare time keeps me happy, my friends prefer to go out to the pub ... that just doesn't work for me most days and I get bored!
Are these good enough reasons? Or am I really as pathetic as they think I am?
